Inspiring Friends

Wow! Its been awhile since I have written and peeked at some blogs.. Cathy, you do inspire me with your knitting as busy as you are. I love your projects as they are new and fresh. Dan and I had a good Thanksgiving Day. I had the day before off from work also. It was restful and the meal was good even if I have to say so myself. I miss the kids. I have a new project started. Its a vest..should be mindless but we will see. I have a sock finished that Prof L has been helping me with and still not much going on with the Afgahn. I made the kids thier gifts for Christmas and I should have taken pics.. what a dummy. I go for my Echo on Tuesday. I am getting anxious for that. I would just like to see where I am with this heart thing that I have...Cardiomyopothy. Anyone else have the same? Give me a jingle if you do. I would love to know more about it.

Monday Oct. 23

Its been a couple of days and I have made some progress on my first strip on the afghan. I am still looking for a sock pattern and have started many. I got an Opal yarn in the mail today and I really would love to make something with that to show my appreciation to the Friendly Socks Group. Talented bunch they are! I started walking again but havent been able to knit at the same time. I might try posting my weekly scale if I can figure out how to do it on the blog. I need a bit of a push and perhaps this is one way to be accountable. Have a great evening..

Gotta get going

I started a knitted afghan today and copied some sock patterns from the internet. There are so many talented people out there. Its hard to find just the right pattern. I love them all. I can't wait to finish another pair of socks to put them up on my blog again. Have a great knitting day!

Finished slippers

Here are the slippers that I finished a couple of days ago! Hopefully they will keep someone nice and warm this winter!

Am excited...

Looks like I have joined a knitting web ring. I am so lucky to have friends in High places...no pun intended! Thanks Cathy! I havent been blogging like I should. I need to get busy with this and keep the old mind active. I am knitting socks still with some increased knowledge. I did make a pair of slippers and will try to put the picture up tomorrrow. They are kinda cute and would love to make more for the grand babies in my life. Later!

Its a Great Day!

Well, I did work for 4 hours this morning but I am home now. I got a questioned answered for my knitting so I can start that going again. I am working on Do the Math socks by Becky Yoder in the Friendly Socks Book. It is actually a lesson in making socks that fit. So far so good. They do look neat. I think I have found a love for DK yarn more than the thinner fingering weight or the worseted weight. I am going to try to find an easy pattern for wrist warmers that include half of the fingers. They would go over well for a few that I know that live in the North. Its still warm and humid here. I love the weather and living in Fl. I keep bringing plants home from work.. Poor Dan! He has to find places for them. I cant bare to have them thrown out in the dumpster! Going off to knit! Have a great day!

Picture of Ca Hikers

Here is the finished Ca Hikers..end date of Sept. 21, 2006. They came out really nice, I thought. I used a DK yarn. I would like to thank the Friendly Socks Group for all of thier help. You can find the pattern in The Friendly Socks Book by Laura Andersson. So many talented knitters have made a wonderful read. The designer of the socks is Debra Chinn. Thank you for the pretty design.

I tried to knit some today, but frogged abit more. I find a mistake and I cannot leave it alone. Got to get this sock done on time and time is marching on for me. It was a good day off and I would love to have another couple of the same. I do have a weeks vacation left but now sure that I will take one this year. I havent decided what my next knitting project will be but I do want to make some Christmas presents for the kids. Gotta go.. its late.

Sunday

I had to work today so little time to knit. I finished one sock for the KAL and now have to get busy with the other half . I think the finish date is the 21st. I know I can do it if I don't frog as much. I do enjoy knitting.. just can't get enough of it. I can't wait to be able to knit something for the grandkids. That will make my heart sing. Keep Knitting!

Work tomorrow

I have been playing again this evening.. working on my blog and knitting some during the day.. I hope my new buttons are working.. Check it out... I am coming along on my Kal.. only the first sock though.. haven't gotten to the heel yet but soon. I work tomorrow so will go to bed early tonight after an hour or so of knitting. Had a great talk with one of my buds today on the internet..sure is a lovely person...Name is Kellie, in case you should run into her. I am trying to talk her into making a blog for herself. She is such a creative writer. I think she likes fiction and romance...not necessarily in that order. (vbg)

About time!

This is about the color of my eyes right now! I have been working on my blog for a few hours with some success. I am using hints, suggestions and good ole know how from my blogger friends.. thank you for your kindness! This has been fun. I didn't do much knitting today. I have tomorrow off so I will be knitting then. I have some catching up to do if I am to finish my KAL from the Friendly Socks Group (Yahoo). Just wanted to touch bases with my blog..Making sure all is working before I say good night..Hope you like it!

Starting over

Sometimes Starting Over is not easy to do. I guess that has to do with all things and since my knitting experience has been about starting over or frogging, I am thinking this is the best thing to do.
Today, Earnesto or Ernest for short, has visited us with not much fury. We are lucky this time and are able to stay home.. lucky it was my day off from work and lucky that I found time to knit on my KAL Socks.
This is my first entry in my new blog home.. lets hope I can get the rest of it together again.. Thanks for listening.
